Spray Tanning Preparation
Careful preparation of the body is essential for a perfect
even looking tan.

Exfoliate - This is the most important step in preparing the
body for spray tan as it is essential to remove dead cells
from the surface of the skin. Removing them will ensure a
longer lasting tan. Particular attention should be paid to
the dry areas of the skin such as knees, elbows and ankles.
Moisturise - Dry areas of the skin such as
knees, elbows and ankles. The moisturiser acts as a barrier
as these areas tend to be darker than the rest of the body.
Apply Balm - Balm acts as a barrier to the
tanning solution and therefore should be used on the nails
to avoid staining. Should also be used on lips and eyebrows
and palms of hands .
Setting Up
The Nuress Home Tanning Salon is so easy to use even a complete
beginner can get a professional looking tan, and look like
they have just stepped out of the Salon.

Step 1 - Unscrew the solution container from the spray gun
and fill it with tanning solution. The container has two level
markers and a max fill line which are equal to about 50ml,
100ml and 150ml. 50ml is normally enough for 1 spray tan.
Step 2 - Make sure the pick up tube is pushed
securely in to the lid of the spray gun, and screw the solution
container back on to the spray gun.
Step 3 - Connect one end of the hose to the
back of the spray gun and the other end to the motor unit.
Plug in the motor unit to the mains supply and your Nuress
Home tanning salon is ready to use.
Application
An appropriate location will be needed to spray tan. Another
pair of hands may be required especially for spraying the
back.
Before using the tanning system it is recommended
to practice spraying a piece of paper first to get a feel
for the volume and speed of spray. As a guide hold the spray
gun about 30cm from the body and about 40cm away from the
face.
Spray the upper part of the body horizontally and the lower
part vertically; the spray should be just a light mist all
over the skin. The spray gun should be kept moving to avoid
an uneven tan, if runs occur simply blot with tissue and re-spray.
When spraying the face it is recommended to
wear the nose plugs provided and keep eyes closed so the vapour
isn't inhaled and the solution doesn't get in the eyes. It
is also recommended to cover the hair, especially if it is
bleached.
You can control your shade. If a pale tan
is wanted then only one layer of spray should be applied,
for deeper tones apply more layers.
After Tan Care
After th e
spray tan has been applied wait for 15-20 minutes for the
solution to dry before putting on clothes. Loose clothes should
be worn after tanning as the solution may stain clothes if
not completely dry.
The caramel in the Nuress tanning solution
gives you an instant radiant tan while the active ingredient
DHA takes a while longer to develop with the tan reaching
its deepest after 24 hours. Therefore, it is advisable not
to bath or shower for 6 to 8 hours after spray tanning so
the tan has time to develop.
Moisturising daily helps to prolong the tan
and stops the skin from drying.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The Nuress tanning system should be cleaned after every use.
If the tanning solution dries inside the spray gun then it
may be difficult to use again. It is quick and easy to clean,
just fill the solution container with water and spray the
water through the gun and repeat several times until the water
is clear and there are no traces of tanning solution. This
should clean all internal elements of the gun. Wipe the unit
with a damp cloth to remove any traces of tanning solution
from the outside of the gun and motor unit.
